​Feeling disconnected, overwhelmed, or unsure how to find your way? You’re not alone, and Kelly Berthold, LCSW, is ready to guide you toward lasting change. There's an ocean of information out there on well-being, but not much guidance on how to actually apply it in a way that works long-term. As a licensed clinical social worker, wellness coach, and advocate, Kelly has an extensive and integrative background in the science of human flourishing, blending deep knowledge with practical skills to create a transformative experience.

I’m Kelly Berthold, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, mindset and transformation coach, and passionate advocate for human flourishing. I founded MindCast LLC and Know Your FundaMENTALs because I believe thriving shouldn't be a mystery—it should be real, accessible, and within reach for all of us, especially professional moms balancing it all.

 

My passion is rooted in helping people connect with themselves, their loved ones, their communities, and their purpose.

With advanced training from institutions like Harvard Medical School, the University of Massachusetts, and the University of Pittsburgh's School of Social Work, my work is informed by state-of-the-art science from mindfulness, trauma-informed care, cognitive-behavioral approaches, human development and attachment, integrative medicine, neurobiology, neuroscience, and the science of human flourishing. I’ve received training from internationally renowned programs, including Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction from the University of Massachusetts Medical School's Center for Mindfulness, and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy through the Centre for Mindfulness Studies in partnership with Harvard Medical School’s Center for Mindfulness and Compassion. My background also includes training in Trauma-Informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy through the Treatment Implementation Collaborative. I’m an advanced professional in strength-based, person-centered services, specializing in supporting the whole person across the neurodiverse spectrum. My work unifies science across fields, always considering the broader picture of the human experience, and takes a deliberate integrative and interdisciplinary perspective.

Community engagement, education, and training are my passions, and I started coaching to make these resources accessible to even more people. I also serve as a senior staff member and clinical supervisor at the Penn State Psychological Clinic—my alma mater—where I provide clinical supervision, training of clinical doctoral students, and services in the local community.

Before becoming a clinical social worker and coach, I spent several years in the entertainment industry, where I learned the value of storytelling—especially the underdog of entertainment, comedy. It taught me the power of humor, resilience, and connection, and I use that inspiration to make the science of thriving relatable and actionable, blending clinical insights with a sense of humor, compassion, and authenticity.

I get it—there’s an ocean of wellness information out there, and much of it is overwhelming and fragmented. That’s why I created Know Your FundaMENTALs: to provide straightforward, science-backed tools that make thriving accessible and attainable for everyone. My approach is all about meeting you where you are, offering what you need in one place, and addressing challenges at their root—so that you don’t just learn about thriving, you experience it. I believe you are the expert on you, and my coaching helps you build trust in yourself to navigate life with confidence.

With years of experience working with parents, children, and families, I know firsthand how overwhelming it can be to balance work, family, and personal growth. Professional moms often feel like they’re just barely holding everything together—constantly chasing expectations that seem impossible. I’ve seen how transformational it can be when you start to trust yourself, focus on what you can control, and align your actions with what truly matters. I’m here to help you make that shift.

My approach blends knowledge with real-life skills—because thriving is a practice, not just an idea. Just like learning to ride a bike, building a thriving life takes a mix of understanding and action. Together, we’ll build a foundation of self-trust, align your actions with your values, and help you create a life that feels balanced, fulfilling, and uniquely yours.
